On 28th September Heywood 1 beat Chorlton 2 to go through to the next round of the Wahltuch Cup. Team Captain Steve Flaherty reports:
Tremendous result tonight beating a team from the division above by 3.5-2.5. We were out graded by an average of 223 points on each board. Great win early on for young Oscar. Then what proved to be a good draw for Lucas on Board2. Steve and Bill lost after three plus hours of play and it meant both Dave Almond and Steve White had to win. We would have lost on board count if it had been 3-3. So a great start to the new season.
