An individual’s confidentiality is protected by the Data Protection Act and, from May 25th 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2016 (PECR). 
Our chess club takes your privacy very seriously and we will never collect any personal information without your express permission.
 

What information do we collect from you?
From time to time we may use the site to host entry forms for local chess competitions.  In these cases we will record information necessary to process the entry applications such as name, email address, ECF membership number etc.  Under no other circumstances will this site collect any personal information.
 

How will we use the information about you?
We use any information recorded to process applications for chess tournaments only.  Once the event is completed any personal data held will be removed completely.  We will never share your information with any other third party for marketing purposes.  If we make any changes to this we will contact you to obtain your consent first.
 

What do we do with your information?
Your information is used to process your tournament application only and is kept electronically on a secure management system in order to keep in touch with you during the event organisation.  

You can request a copy of the information we hold about you by getting touch with any of the club's administrators.


At any time of collecting data you have the right to object to us holding certain information about you.
 

How long do we keep hold of your information?
Any information we hold in respect of a tournament will be removed immediately on completion of the tournament.
